Animal Clinic of Bogalusa has been in operation for 45 years. Dr. Elizabeth Penton bought the practice in 1995 and has been successfully offering services and products to the city of Bogalusa as well as the community of Washington Parish. We are a full service veterinary hospital offering general surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, preventative medicine, nutritional counseling and products, boarding and flea control for dogs and cats.
In 2001 the Animal Clinic acquired the "Mill's house" and moved it next door to the original clinic building. It is now our main office for exams, surgery and recovery, diagnostics and hospitalized patients. The original clinic building has been converted to suites for our boarders.
Lynda Jones has been with the clinic for 14 yrs and can be called on for all client questions. She is our client-patient relations person. She introduces clients to Care Credit and assists them with their applications when they need financial assistance for hospital expenses. She is our senior admissions person and carefully explains the processes involved with our surgery patients. She will explain pre surgical blood testing, the need for IV fluids peri operatively, as well as offering other options available for the surgery patient.
Rudy Penton, Dr. Elizabeth Penton's husband, manages the boarding kennel. He makes sure all the boarders are happy and properly fed and cleaned up after. Many of our boarders are frequent visitors and get to know Rudy well. He remembers what they like or don't like, and makes sure no boarder is scared or intimidated by other boarders.

A miracle shared: Little man was attacked his body torn, bruised, and racked. On the operating tablet our Little Man lay as we listen to what the vet had to say. The injuries were extensive, it didn’t look good. We asked the vet to do what she could. Praying, I asked God to guide her hands as she labored over our Little Man. Everything medically was now being done she saw him through the night and then day one. His body began to heal, turned black and blue and Little Man made it through day two. Improving with the hours he made day three and on day four he came home with me. Our thanks to Dr. Penton and her staff, for their work and care and with other, our story, to be shared.
- Thanks, Owners of Little Man Polk, Wade and Myrna
